Sony VAIO Pro 11 and VAIO Pro 13 are Now Available – See Specs Price and Where to Buy

The new Sony VAIO Pro series Ultrabook, powered by the latest 4th generation Intel Haswell processors, are now available to order online, together with its convertible brother, Sony VAIO Duo 13. The Sony VAIO Pro 11 is the 11.6-inch version of the Ultrabook, while the Sony VAIO Pro 13 is the 13.3-inch model. There are four models to choose from that are currently available. Each model varies in display size, processing power, storage, and memory. These are the Sony VAIO Pro SVP11213CX, SVP13213CX, SVP1321ACX, and SVP13215PX. Sony VAIO Pro 11 and VAIO Pro 13 Features

The Sony VAIO Pro is a touchscreen Ultrabook powered by the latest 4th generation Intel microprocessors and offers cutting-edge technology for maximum user experience. It’s ultralight and ultra-thin, thanks to its extra-durable carbon fiber body. Its 11-inch and 13-inch touch screen display feature Full HD resolution with Triluminos and IPS technology for more brilliant colors and wider viewing angles. Sony also added X-Reality Technology for mobile, making video quality vastly improved.

Both the Sony VAIO Pro 11 and VAIO Pro 13 are powered by a 4th generation Intel Core i5-4200U processor or an Intel Core i7-4500U, depending on the configuration. The processor is paired with either a 4GB or 8GB DDR3L 1600MHz memory. You can also choose from Windows 8 64bit or Windows 8 Pro 64bit for its operating system.

The Sony VAIO Pro series doesn’t have a discrete graphics card, so this is not a gaming laptop. Instead graphics processing is taken care of by the Intel HD Graphics 4400, which is a built-in graphics processor in the CPU. You can still install and play some games, but you might not be able to play games that require a discrete graphics card. Both series also feature Solid State Drive for its storage, in either 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB capacities. Solid State Drives or SSD are way faster than your typical hard drive. They also contribute to the fast loading, wake up, and boot up time.

The good thing about the Sony VAIO Pro 13 is that it uses a PCIe based SSD. This type of SSD performs better and faster compared to your typical SATA or mSATA SSD drive. This gives the VAIO Pro 13 an advantage over its 11-inch brother.
