MSI GP60 2OD-072US 15-Inch Haswell Gaming Laptop – See Specs, Price and Where to Buy
The MSI GP60 2OD-072US is a mid-range gaming laptop powered by the latest 4th gen Intel Core i7 Haswell Quad-Core processor, featuring a 15-inch Full HD display at 1920×1080 with the anti-reflective display, and the latest GeForce GT 740M discrete graphics card for gaming. This is geared towards budget-conscious mobile gamers who don’t really need a powerful graphics processor.
The MSI GP60 2OD-072US is powered by the latest Intel Core i7-4700MQ Haswell Quad-Core processor clocked at 2.4GHz and can be overclocked up to 3.4GHz. The processor is paired with an 8GB of DDR3L RAM with memory speeds of 1600MHz. For those who don’t like the new Windows 8, rejoice for the MSI GP60 runs on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit out of the box.
It features a nice 15.6-inch Full HD display with a resolution of 1920×1080, 16:9 aspect ratio, and has anti-glare finish. The MSI GP60 2OD-07US’ graphics display is powered by a mid-range NVIDIA GeForce GT 740M discrete graphics card with 2GB of GDDR5 memory. It’s a little bit faster compared to its GT 600M predecessors, but it’s not as fast as the GTX 700M series GPU. As I said, this is not intended for heavy gamers who are looking to max out the visual settings of the games they play.
The MSI GP60 2OD-07US comes with a 750GB 7200RPM hard drive, which I think is nice compared to those gaming laptops that only comes with a 5400RPM hard drive. Like the other MSI G Series gaming laptop, the GP60 features a SteelSeries keyboard, but unfortunately it’s not backlit.
It’s also not light and slim as its cousin, the MSI GS70 Stealth, but it’s only 1.27-inch thick at its thickest point and weighs 5.29lbs. Check out the rest of the specifications from the table below.
