Asus Zenbook UX301 vs Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus – Which Ultrabook is Better?
Out of the many Ultrabooks available in the market today, you’ll probably be wondering which is the better Ultrabook, which Ultrabook has the muscle power at the same time has the better design and looks. Today let’s going to look at two premium Ultrabooks, featuring ultra-thin and light body, fantastic display and enough muscle power to handle your computing needs, – the Asus Zenbook UX301 and the Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus. Both the Asus UX301 and Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus are powered with the latest 4th generation Intel Haswell processor, features QHD and QHD+ touch displays (respectively), ultra-fast SSD storage, and many more. Check out their respective features and specifications below, and be sure to watch the video comparison of the Asus Zenbook UX301 vs Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus and find out which is the best Ultrabook for you.
The Asus Zenbook UX301 and Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus, despite being in the same category of Ultrabooks, are unique from each other. Each one has its own pros and cons that would determine whether you like this Ultrabook over the other. On the external aspect, the Asus Zenbook UX301’s lid is covered with a Corning Gorilla Glass 3, giving it a “glassy” but scratch-proof surface which is very nice actually. Meanwhile the Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus features a plain matte finish.
The Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus is powered with the latest 4thgeneration Intel Haswell processor, which you can choose from either Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processor. Meanwhile, the Asus UX301 also has an Intel Core i5 variant but has a better Intel Core i7 variant with the Core i7-4558U featuring Intel Iris Graphics 500 integrated graphics processor, which is better than the Intel HD Graphics 4400 integrated into the Core i5-4200U and Core i7-4500U processors.
Another difference between the two is that the Asus UX301 features a 13.3-inch IPS touchscreen display with Quad HD resolution at 2560×1440. Meanwhile the Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus also sports a 13.3-inch touchscreen display but with a much higher Quad HD+ resolution at 3200×1800. But does higher resolution means better quality display? Find that out on the video comparison below.
Asus Zenbook UX301 vs Samsung ATIV Book 9 Plus Video Comparison
For me, I would definitely go with the Asus UX301 since it offers a better combination of specifications and features, not to mention better processing power (and for gaming) and display quality. I also like the idea of the Gorilla Glass 3 lid surface, it’s very nice and unique. Well actually the Acer Aspire S7 also has a Gorilla Glass 3 lid surface but the Asus UX301 looks better for me. But if you do not like the glass surface the ATIV Book 9 Plus would be great for you.
