One of the most unique and most anticipated 3-in-1 Convertible Laptop – the Asus Transformer Book Trio (TX201LA-DH51T) is now available. We previously talked about it here, that this unique convertible laptop can be used separately by two users. When in laptop mode, you can switch simultaneously between the Android operating system and Windows OS. Meanwhile the 11.6-inch display is actually the Android tablet with its own CPU, Storage, and resources. When removed from its dock you can use it independently just like any other tablet. But the problem with the most convertible is that the keyboard dock becomes useless without the display or the tablet.

This is not the case with the Transformer Book Trio. The Keyboard dock is actually a PC station, powered by the latest 4th generation Intel Core Haswell processor, with its own memory, storage and etc. To use the Windows PC Station, you only need to connect it to another display monitor, and you are good to go. The Asus Transformer Book Trio TX201LA is a laptop, tablet, and desktop PC in one device. It features dual OS (Android and Windows) where you can maximize and enjoy the best of both worlds. Switching from Windows to Android and vice versa is so easy with just a push of a key. There is a dedicated key located on the keyboard dock that lets you switch from one OS to another. To be clear, both the OS are separately installed, the Android is in the Tablet, while the Windows is the PC Station/Keyboard Dock.

This particular model, the Asus Transformer Book Trio TX201LA-DH51T is powered by an Intel Core i5 4200U Haswell processor paired with a 4GB of RAM and 500GB of storage. Meanwhile its tablet portion has its own processor which is the Intel Atom Z2560 dual-core with Hyper-Threading paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. As I said, both devices are independent of each other and can function independently.

The display or the tablet portion on this device is also beautiful, with its 11.6-inch Full HD IPS multi-touch display at 1920×1080 resolution. Images and texts are crisp and sharp and you get a full 178-degree viewing angle. The Transformer Book Trio TX201LA features a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera with autofocus and a 720p HD front-facing camera for video chat. It’s not the best mobile camera out there but at least it has a decent camera. And let’s not forget the Audio speakers built into this device. It features an exclusive Asus SonicMaster audio that is co-developed with Bang & Olufsen ICEpower to deliver a clear and rich audio experience.

Despite being independent of each other (the tablet and PC station); you can still share files, or reopen the same web page to the other thanks to the Data sync using the Asus Trio Console utility. And thanks to the efficient and low powered Intel Haswell processor, battery life can reach up to 13 hours on laptop mode depending on your use, and up to 5 hours on tablet mode on a single charge. Price and Where to Buy

The Asus Transformer Book Trio TX201LA is now available to order online in the US. There are two models currently available, the TX201LA-DH51T-CA and the TX201LA-DH51T-CB. Both models have basically the same exact specifications. The only difference is that the “CB” has a Bilingual Keyboard type and it’s $100 cheaper than the “CA”. The TX201LA-DH51T-CA is only $1,299.99, while the TX201LA-DH51T-CC is only $1,199.99. The product usually comes with 1-year warranty and Asus support, but you can also include a 2 or 3-year drops and spills warranty for your protection.
